C L E A N. As I've gotten older, the more I've come to realize how important our surroundings and environment can be to basically every aspect of our lives. My ability to manage stress, work, social interactions, and even my ability to sleep well can be directly effected by my room, my home, my LIVING space. This week was all about making my environment a priority! The results weren't necessarily surprising…but still nice to enjoy. It was easier to find peace, to get ready every day, to not have to focus on external distractions, when I needed to focus inwardly. It was simple: my life was organized, clean, and taken care of-so all of that energy I was putting into to-do lists, and stress about my home was put elsewhere-into actually LIVING in my home. Drinking water is so hard! Drinking at least 64 ounces every day has been one of the hardest challenges I've done so far 😅 but, what I've noticed is that preparation is KEY! I know that if I start the day off with a water bottle, and have planned how to refill it through the day it's SO much easier. If I 'wing it' I find myself empty handed and definitely not making my goals. But all in all this has been good for me! This week's theme might have seemed random when I announced it: family histories focusing on the fourth of July. But…it was exactly what I needed. Sometimes, it can get so hard to connect to events, holidays, places…but hearing stories of my parents and grandparents celebrating the same thing I celebrate- brings a sense of belonging in a crazy world. Make-up week has been an adventure 😂 between work, dates, going to my weekly class, and helping with a non-profit I've been glad to have put aside the time to do my makeup (and actually put effort into it). Week 4: So far this week, I've really come to understand the importance of planning ahead. When I had everything set aside, the ingredients ready, it was easy to make a delicious healthy meal! On the other hand, today when I had a recipe in mind, but nothing set aside, the meat still frozen, it was so hard to get things going (especially working two jobs), ebough so that I prepped for tomorrow, and got Subway for dinner 🙈 meal planning is a lot harder than it looks, but also infinitely easier as long as you put in the work and prepare! Week 3: It's been fun going out this week preparing for the 5k, I've realized that I don't give myself too much time to just think, to just be by myself. I'm constantly on my phone, working, or running somewhere to do something. Getting out and running these last couple days has given me a bit of perspective, and reminded me that it's nice to just slow down. I hope I can keep this up and show up 🏃 at the #huntsman5k this weekend! Also! It's finished! This week was honestly so enlightening getting everything ready for my vision board. While it's not something I really think about, affirmations and visualization have been used by Olympic athletes, successful business men, and even some celebrities. Preparing for this I really wanted to focus on the most important aspects of my life, and try to use these tools to better myself and work towards improving my family life, finances, my career… I really tried to reflect on what I personally need to work on, I'll keep you posted on how this goes!
